browsing my local booksellers today i came across this new book of poetry by nikki giovanni. even if you’re not into poetry, you may know her name from the time of the virginia tech campus murders: she wrote and delivered the now-famous “we are virginia tech” convocation address.
hmm, i thought, a book of love poems — many of them erotic love poems at that — titled bicycles. how’s that? and there, right before the table of contents, before i had browsed a bit of the poetry within, i got the answer:
